Pete really pushed us with our mock ups for his website and we created over 9 versions of his site before he was happy for us to begin the live backend overhaul. Pete was drawn to a simple easy to read layout which capitalized on photos for impact and really informed the visitor right away what his business was selling. We had some great call to action sliders on the home landing page and a bold contact us section. We also had fun creating the dropdown tabs for the FAQs section which is a nice interactive touch. Overall we pulled his brands colours thorugh a nice clean white layout to fully show case Cape Insulation

Macforrest 33 Logo & Web Re-design

On March 13th 2016 Mackenzie Forrest (Mac33)tragically lost her life in a car accident in Colorado USA. Mackenzie, an award-winning high school basketball player, was a living example of why hustle + heart set you apart. She showed that in competition, playing hard, playing smart and with heart, would pay off. In life she understood how one conversation and reaching out to someone who needed a friend, really matter. Mac's father Holger approached us to create a bespoke memory website to honour his daughter. This touched a cord with me and i really pushed the limits of this design and the functionality of the site and learnt a tremendous amount about coding in the process.

The South African Shark Conservancy  needed assistance with the backend coding of their website. Meag, a graphic designer herself, had a basic html understanding and had already installed the wordpress theme but had got slightly stuck to when it came to customizing and back-end coding. We stepped in and took all her content to the next level. It was great to work with another designer as we could really push layout designs and photo positioning and have fun bouncing idea off each other for this site.

Amanzi Island Lodge CI

Amanzi Island Lodge was given a new lease on life when owners Catherine & James Fisher took it over and now this gorgeous Knysna lagoon-side boutique guesthouse is in its branding prime. We kept the Amanzi logo from the previous owners to ensure continuity with an established name but have pushed the brand much further ever since. Amanzi’s gorgeously appointed photographs are captured perfectly with the latest web overhaul. I cannot reiterate enough how much a good photographer can do for your brand and truly believe this is what makes the Amanzi site POP! We have also worked on a complete corporate identity in terms of letterheads, business cards, adverts, an in room brochure guide to Knysna and a postcard design to send home. We have also recently taken over their social media platform management. This brand can still be pushed even further and we look forward to future endeavors with the Amanzi team.

Yellowtree came to me from the suggestion of an ex colleague. Yellowtree are in a rather interesting and new field of emissions testing. They are passionate about making SA an environmentally sound country through the use of the services they offer various industry sectors. Yellowtree's brief was to upscale their existing brand identity with a new website. They had a fantastic brand logo to work with as a starting point and its important to mention that a strong brand identity lends itself to creating a strong website layout and design.

Volunteer For Sharks Logo, Brochure & Web Design

Volunteer for sharks (VFS) was a local Gansbaai startup with a great initiative in mind: They help conserve the great white shark and other sharks through volunteering, sustainability & research in the form of the latest craze to hit SA namely Ecotourism. VFS a volunteer project that gives locals and foreigners the opportunity to become shark volunteers in Africa. Kim Maclean aka "The Sharklady" wanted to create a site where foreigners (mostly) would have a good idea of what this new project entails, how one can become a volunteer and what sort of impact one would have in the bigger picture.

Italianos CI

Italiano’s had a name change recently from Borrusos Too to Italiano’s. Borrussos Too was created when owner Cameron broke away from the Borrusos Kenilworth restaurant to open his own restaurant in Plumstead under the same franchise, but with a slightly updated logo. Unfortunately due to certain constraints on the original Borrusos logo we couldn’t change much, but Cameron’s initial brief was to add the word “too” somewhere and make it look like a graffiti style stamp. Once this was agreed on we worked on menu designs. Cameron had a specific look and feel in mind which harked to the craft restaurant/craft beer styling of card board and black print. We played with a variety of print finishes and settled on a laminate because people often eat pizza with their hands and the menus could get greasy. A website was then created to showcase the menu, the specials and the location. Borrusos Too became incredibly popular in its Plumstead location and Cameron eventually decided to take the business over completely and therefore the name had to change to Italiano’s. For the Italiano’s brand we had a lot of fun looking at other pizza and pasta designs, but finally settled on the […]
